Although Wyatt (who is 6) is thrilled about Ocean Oasis and the new house Ella (8) is less than enthused. She is downright grumpy about it and not wanting to move at all. In order to invoke happier feelings of our new home the three of us spent a lot of time at Ocean Oasis playing ball, having picnics and inviting friends over. The kids love the open space (our backyard is currently very small) and they loved showing their friends the grapes growing on the lot and the fort inside some dead cedar trees.
We found Ocean Oasis was almost perfect as a playspace. It had food and shelter but it was missing one important item - a bathroom. So don't go too close to the bushes at the back of the lot if you are visiting!
Our plan of getting Ella to fall in love with the idea of moving seemed to be working until she saw spiders in the fort. On to plan #2.
