Another interesting turning point

John and I were already excited about our new home. After waiting years and driving our realtor crazy with looking we finally had exactly what we wanted. We were building the house we had always wanted and we didn't think it could get any better. We were absolutely wrong.

At the beginning of November we received a phone call from Brad, the local high school's carpentry teacher. He is a Red Seal Certified carpenter who has built many houses in town and now teaches at the high school. The high school has a special program which is hands on learning for the students. They study carpentry full-time in the spring term at school and last year they built a 750 square foot home at the school which they were able to sell after completion. They were looking for another project this year and were wondering if we would be interested in partnering with them.

We ended up meeting with Brad and the principal and going over details. John and I were thrilled to be able to be involved in such an amazing community project that would benefit so many people. And can you believe it, they were hoping to start at the beginning of March, exactly when John and I were hoping! They had also talked to a local contractor who is very supportive of local groups and the community. He and his staff had agreed to partner with the high school to help out if they needed it and also to finish off where the students ended at lock-up stage.

The only concern we had was that our designs would be ready and our designer assured us that they would. We were able to let the high school know that we would love to be involved.

The project that we thought couldn't get any better just did! Thanks Brad, Dave, Brian and Dave!
