Today is the day I finally got to meet/see the students. There are 19 and I am looking forward to getting to know all of them. I drove up to Ocean Oasis today to see all of them, representatives from the high school, including Brad and the principal, our wonderful mayor, our contractor Brian and his foreman Dave, school board trustees and newspaper and radio media. There was even a big digger on the lot, ready to go.
It was a great reminder that this is an amazing community project, a great opportunity for the students to learn hands on and something really special to be involved in. We feel very lucky - thanks everyone!
Not only was it a ground breaking day theoretically, it was one literally, as the digger started his work and our house was officially started.
